Dr. Sharon Liddell, Superintendent of Santa Rosa City (SRCS) Elementary and Secondary Schools, joined SRCS in 2003. Her 27-year career in education includes K-12 professional development for teachers and administrators, classroom teaching, and thirteen years as an administrator. From 1989-2003, Dr. Liddell served in Sacramento City Unified School District and San Juan Unified School District, Sacramento. She also worked for California School Leadership Academy in Sacramento as a coach for principals. Prior to her arrival in California, she worked for school districts in Maryland and Texas.
Dr. Liddell earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California and was awarded the Dissertation of the Year Award in 2000. She has a Masters in counseling from National University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from University of North Texas. Additionally, Sharon attended Harvard Business Schools' Innovative Education Systems Institute and is a graduate of ACSA Superintendents' Academy, California School Leadership Academy, and the CSBA Masters in Governance program for superintendents and school board members. Along with her duties as superintendent, Dr. Liddell pursues active community service on the Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force, Santa Rosa Downtown Rotary Club, PACE Leadership Committee for St. Joseph Health Care System (06-07), Association of California School Administrators, Sonoma County Association of School Administrators, and Superintendents' Legislative Action.
