Santa Rosa High School is steeped in tradition. We were the 9th high school chartered in California, and this community's only public high school from 1874 until 1958. The campus has a picturesque "Ivy League" look with separate classroom buildings and much of the open space in lawn or plantings. Santa Rosa High School is Sonoma County's high school of choice, with 50% of its present student body comprised of students who come from outside the schools attendance boundaries.

Santa Rosa High School is a truly a comprehensive high school, with offerings in Agriculture, Automotive Technologies, Business, CAD Drafting, Electronics, and Wood Shop . The school has established career pathways and higher learning institution partnerships.

Santa Rosa High School is an academic leader, having had for nine consecutive years the district's highest SAT scores. Santa Rosa High School has a high API rating of 696. On campus tutoring is available through an arrangement with Sonoma State University.

Our core academic program is composed of rigorous courses in English, math, science, social studies, foreign language and physical education. Foreign languages offered are Spanish, French and Latin. Advanced placement is available in Spanish, French, English, Art, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, economics and U.S. History. Honors credit is offered in English (Freshmen, Sophomore and Junior), biology, chemistry, physics, government, world history, Spanish, French, geometry and algebra. Physical education, required for graduation, emphasizes fitness and healthy living.

Santa Rosa High School is home of the renowned ArtQuest program. This district supported program, with specialty course work in Visual Fine Arts, Dance, Drama, Instrumental and Vocal Music, and Multimedia / Video was recently awarded the prestigious Jack London Award for Educational Excellence.
